Comments from the Headmaster

New Plymouth Boys’ High School seeks to provide the best possible education for young men in a safe and healthy environment. At the core of our curriculum are the key competencies of literacy, numeracy, learning to think, managing oneself well, relating with respect, and full participation and contribution. Underpinning our teaching and learning are the key values of striving for excellence, being innovative, and showing respect.

We want our young men to be creative, energetic and enterprising – students who will seize opportunities, resulting in confident, life-long learners.

We seek to support and empower all our students to learn and achieve personal excellence regardless of their individual circumstances. We encourage our pupils to reflect on their own learning process and to learn how to learn.

We seek to provide the best possible opportunities for young men to be fully involved in academic, sporting, cultural and social activities.
