Year Nine

  • Learning to use scientific equipment and work safely in the laboratory
  • Famous scientists and science discoveries
  • Planning a fair test to find out how things work
  • Working by yourself or with someone else to develop a Science Fair entry
  • Writing and presenting reports, videos, images and presentations
  • Working in groups on science practical work
  • Talking  to outside experts and visiting local science sites
  • Learning about plants and animals and how they live in communities and ecosystems, especially in Taranaki
  • Learning about the nature of matter, and using chemical reactions to explore ideas about the world around us
  • Learning about how energy is used and controlled in society, and how light energy can be used in vision and optics.
  • Learning about space exploration, the solar system and the universe.
