Year Nine
- Learning to use scientific equipment and work safely in the laboratory
- Famous scientists and science discoveries
- Planning a fair test to find out how things work
- Working by yourself or with someone else to develop a Science Fair entry
- Writing and presenting reports, videos, images and presentations
- Working in groups on science practical work
- Talking to outside experts and visiting local science sites
- Learning about plants and animals and how they live in communities and ecosystems, especially in Taranaki
- Learning about the nature of matter, and using chemical reactions to explore ideas about the world around us
- Learning about how energy is used and controlled in society, and how light energy can be used in vision and optics.
- Learning about space exploration, the solar system and the universe.
