This is a junior version of the Hillary Challenge and is open to Y9 – 10 students. Teams of 8 students are selected from NPBHS and NPGHS to trial for this National Competition through a one day Regional event. Skills required include: navigation, problem solving, mountain biking, sailing, kayaking, rock climbing, and tramping. The national final is held on Great Barrier Island in December of each year. The combined NPBH/GHS teams have made the NZ finals on four occasions with one 1st, two 2nd placements and a 4th.
Participation at training events held throughout the year are a prerequisite for interested students.
