Assessment

To be eligible you must come into one of the following three categories:
  • Be receiving a Work and Income or Study Link benefit.
  • Have a joint family gross income below the threshold for receipt of a Community Services Card.
  • Have two or more children in the family undertaking these qualifications in the same year, irrespective of income, and school.

You cannot claim financial assistance for foreign fee paying students.

Beneficiaries and others approved for financial assistance, will still be required to pay a processing fee for each level. eg:

NCEA Level 1/Level 2/Level 3 (one child)  $ 20.00
NCEA Level 1/Level 2/Level 3
(two or more children per family)                $ 30.00

Any family, irrespective of school, who has two or more children entering qualifications, is required to pay no more than $ 100 per child, with a maximum of $ 200 per family.

In 2011 candidates will have a gross fee of $ 76.70, except where they have entered for more than three Scholarship subjects or where they are foreign fee paying students.  This means that most families with two candidates entering NQF standards this year will not be eligible for family-based financial assistance.

Note however, that a family may still qualify under the benefit or income-based categories or under the family category where candidates enter additional Scholarship subjects.

If you have not received a letter about this from the school, you should contact;
