ANZAC Assembly 2019
New Plymouth Boys’ High School was honoured to have Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Crow (Old Boy 1983-87) return as guest speaker for the 2019 ANZAC Assembly on Monday. Current students, special guests, and the wider school community assembled in Ryder Hall. Wreaths were laid at the Memorial Gate and Memorial Shrine by Old Boy Mr Roy Roper (1936-41), Mr Trevor Wylde (RSA President), Head Boy Zac Drinkwater, WOSCS Reece Golding, MNZM, MSM (on behalf of Navy Recruitment), Guest Speaker Lt. Col Matthew Crow, and Head Boarder Daniel Foss with the Cadet Unit and ATC in attendance. Mr Bryce Gordon also gave a spectacular rendition of the Last Post. Installed in the front row in Ryder Hall were seating reserved for 46 Old Boys, representing those who were killed or died of wounds in World War 1. The names of those who died are preserved on the Memorial Gate at the school’s entrance. Then, today and always, New Plymouth Boys’ High School will remember them.
