Basketball is played during Terms 2 and 3. The school caters for a range of social and competitive teams.

There are a number of different leagues and competitions in which teams play. Social and junior basketball are played on Friday nights with the top junior team also playing on a Sunday. Senior and development teams play mid-week evening games. The senior A and U16 basketball teams compete in regional qualifying tournaments in September. With the Senior A team having a national tournament through qualification.

Both teams have a number of inter-school games and the 1st V competes in the Super 8 tournament early in Term 3.

Competition and Teams:  The Senior A plays Men’s Premier grade, Senior B plays Men’s B grade. Senior development plays in Senior A league. Junior A plays in  Taranaki secondary school juniors.  Senior/Junior social play New Plymouth social grade.

Training: Varies from team to team

Uniform and Equipment:  Uniforms are hired for the season as part of the registration fee. Failure to return singlet will result in bill for replacement cost.

Cost:  Junior and senior social $50 for the season. Senior A, B and development have an $80-100 registration. Tournaments range from $300 – $500 per tournament.
