Cricket
Cricket is a well-established traditional summer sport at NPBHS. Over its long history the school has produced a number of national representatives and successful teams.
The cricket season commences in early October and, with a break over Christmas, finishes up in April. All teams take part in regular Saturday competitions. The senior teams play on a Saturday afternoon and the junior and more social side play on a Saturday morning.
In addition to playing premier men’s grade on a Saturday, the 1st XI play annual traditional fixtures against Wellington College, Hamilton BHS, Auckland Grammar, and Wanganui Collegiate. The 1st XI also competes in the national knock-out Gillette Cup. The Year 9 and 10 side have also competed in traditional fixtures with Wellington College and Hamilton BHS and participate in the national knock-out competition.
