This course is designed for students who want to specifically study the science behind performance improvement, the impact of physical activity in society and understand how to use fitness to enhance performance. Students will be developing their skill based using a scientific approach. It covers the following topics: Sports Performance, Sport and Society – contemporary issues in New Zealand society – socio-cultural; Better than before – Improving performance in a Biophysical sciences and Socio-cultural context.

This course is designed for students who want to enhance their individual performance studying the Biophysical sciences of the subject. Students will use performance criteria and video analysis to develop their understanding of sport. It covers the following topics: Sports Performance, Fitness programming and Video analysis and GPS monitoring
