Technology (Wood)

Technology is described as invention by design; the use of practical and intellectual abilities to develop outcomes that expand human possibilities by addressing needs and realising opportunities. Technology is a stimulating and intellectually demanding educational experience for all students.

They will have the opportunity to show innovation and use their creative abilities to solve problems. Technology Wood is about designing and making projects out of Wood (Timber). Students at Year 9 select one technology field from metal, electronics and wood. At Year 10 it becomes a half year option. In Level 1, it becomes an NCEA course. Level 2 NCEA sees the course divided; with a practical carpentry/building course and a technology course which has a problem solving approach through designing and making furniture and other technological outcomes with timber.
